Antequera Golf Course

The Antequera Golf Course is located 1 Km from the hotel Antequera Golf and surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of the El Torcal national park. It is an 18 hole course, 6000 metres long and at an altitude of 650m.  It is set amongst some stunning natural beauty, surrounded by mountains with fairways lined with olive trees, almond trees and an abundance of herb plants. All this make it a wonderful natural environment in which to play golf or simply to enjoy a meal and a drink.

From a player's, whether a professional or an amateur, point of view the course presents them with a variety of interesting holes and fairways. No one approach will be the same and each player has a different option of how to play every hole depending on their level of golf. Although a challenging course all levels of golfer are welcome as are clubs, societies, corporate or large groups.

There is no doubt that the Antequera Golf course is a beautiful course and is well looked after and maintained by the team of green keepers. There are 10 lakes on the course as well as an abundance of natural trees and fauna all of which help to make this a interesting course to play as well as a challenging one.

Apart from receiving guests from around Spain and internationally, being so well situated in the Antequera region it welcomes visitors from all around the zone. It is in the heart of Andalucia and therefore close to Malaga, Granada, Sevilla and Cordoba. Already well known amongst the courses of the region, many also come from the Costa del Sol to try and conquer its fairways.

The Golf Course
The golf course is playable all year round, 18 holes, par 72, over 6.000 meters long.
Both the front nine and the back nine holes have a similar level of difficulty. There are two par 5, two par 3, one large and one shorter. five par 4, one of which can be reached from the tee with a long drive, one long par 4 that should be achievable with the second shot for those single figure handicappers!

 The 10 lakes dotted around the course make life a little more difficult but the many bunkers have been designed to assist your game instead of punishing it. Although a course of extreme beauty wayward drives can make the rough look a lot less picturesque!

Driving range and practice area
The range has 24 individual bays and a common grass section, so you can have the real feeling of playing on the golf course.

There are two practice greens for practicing your short game, including bunker shots and putting. The practice area has a small par 3, exclusively for practicing the short game
If you want to learn to play golf, the course offer the facilities to do so; a fully equipped professional shop and a PGA professional teacher on hand to give you lessons.

 

Facilities

At the centre of the course is the main clubhouse which is where you will find most of the facilities including bar, terrace overlooking the first tee, cafeteria, restaurant, conference and function rooms for up to 500 people. There is a Professional golf shop, practice area with illuminated driving range, putting greens, chipping zones, and changing rooms for men and ladies with storage lockers.

Before or after your round, you can relax at the club house terrace to have lunch, dinner or just a drink and a tapa. With friendly and efficient service on the terrace it is a wonderful way to pass the time whether you are a player or just want a great place to enjoy a drink.

For more formal dining, there is a panoramic restaurant and 'a la carta' menu with breathtaking views of the golf course and the surrounding mountains.

The special function rooms can cater for all types of meeting or function, both private or business, for up to 500 people.
 

 The hotel and golf complex also has a grass football pitch, full size and for 7 a side, for national and international pre-season fitness preparation.

As the hotel is close by it is common to see play and stay packages on offer with full use of all the hotels health and leisure facilities included in the the price as well.
